Setting the Background Image for the Home Screen, Start Screen, and Windows Default Lock Screen

On Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional and Windows Mobile 6.5 Classic, the Home screen, Start screen, and Windows Default Lock screen share the same background image. You can replace the built-in background image with a custom image.

To replace the built-in background image for the Home screen, Start screen, and Windows Default Lock screen, carry out the following steps.

  1. Name the new background image stwater.jpg. You can specify a different image for portrait and landscape views. For example, to replace the background images for the portrait and landscape views for the 240x320 resolution, name the new images stwater_240_320.jpg and stwater_320_240.jpg. You can reference both images with the value stwater.
  2. Place the new images in the \Windows directory.
