ApplicationPool.Stop Method [IIS 7 and higher]

Stops an application pool.

Syntax

oApplicationPool.Stop
oApplicationPool.Stop();

Parameters

This method takes no parameters.

Return Value

This method does not return a value.

Remarks

This method corresponds to the IIsApplicationPool.Stop method in IIS 6.0.

Example

The following example stops the application pool named DefaultAppPool.

' Connect to the WMI WebAdministration namespace.
Set oWebAdmin = GetObject("winmgmts:root\WebAdministration")

' Specify the application pool.
Set oAppPool = oWebAdmin.Get("ApplicationPool.Name='DefaultAppPool'")

' Stop the application pool.
oAppPool.Stop
