Expand_Keywords_Locally Initialization Variable

Specifies Yes to enable keyword expansion in your working folder, and No to disable the feature. When you check in or add a file, and have local keyword expansion enabled, Visual SourceSafe can replace certain keywords in your file with version information. Your local copy of the file is automatically updated. For details, see Keyword Expansion Support.

Expand_Keywords_Locally = {Yes|No}

Disabling keyword expansion improves performance, but you should remember that the copy in your working folder might not be up to date at all times.

You can set this variable in your Ss.ini file directly or in Visual SourceSafe Explorer. In Visual SourceSafe Explorer, use the SourceSafe Options dialog box, Local Files tab. Select the Copy keyword-expanded files into working folder check box to set this variable to Yes.
