Choose specific data

When you import or link to data from the following programs, you must also select specific data within the source file. You are prompted to select specific data after you have selected the source file in the Import Data Wizard, Link Data Wizard, Import Territories Wizard, or Link Territories Wizard.

Microsoft Excel

Data from Microsoft Excel files (*.xls; *.xlt) can consist of multiple sheets or named ranges.

  1. Select the sheet or named range that contains the data you want to import or link.
  2. Click Next to continue the import or link process.

Microsoft Outlook

Data from Microsoft Outlook consist of contacts within a folder.

  1. Select the Contacts folder you want to import or link.
  2. Click Next to continue the import or link process.

Note  You cannot create territories using the Contacts folder in Outlook.

Microsoft Access

Data from Microsoft Access files (*.mdb; *.mdw; *.mda) consist of tables or queries.

  1. Select the table or query that contains the data you want to import or link
  2. Click Next to continue the import or link process.

Data from databases that support Microsoft Data Link (*.udl) consist of tables or views.

  1. Select the table or query that contains the data you want to import or link
  2. Click Next to continue the import or link process.
