About supported data sources

MapPoint supports several data sources that you can use for importing or linking data. You can map data from any of the following sources:

Microsoft Access

Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Outlook contacts

Another database, using a Microsoft Data Link

Plain-text files (*.txt, *.csv, *.asc, or *.tab format) for programs not supported by MapPoint

Microsoft Streets & Trips 2000 Pushpin files (*.stp)

Tip  If you are using a database or program not listed here, you may be able to convert your data to one of these formats. See your program's documentation for details.

Notes

Although you can import Pushpin files, you cannot link to them.

To import Pushpins from Streets & Trips 2000, you must first export your Pushpins. In Streets & Trips 2000, on the File menu, click Export Pushpins and follow the instructions.
