Connect to a Lotus Notes Server

For this procedure, in Management Agent Designer, on the Connect to Notes Server page, you connect to a server running Lotus Notes. You must provide a hierarchical server name, a user ID file, password with administrator rights, and address books. Each time the management agent is run, it uses this information to log on to the directory server to read or write to the directory that you specify. You must install the Lotus Notes client on the server running FIM and the client must be configured to connect to the Lotus Notes server. To complete this procedure, you must be logged on as a member of the FIMSyncAdmins security group.

To connect to a Lotus Notes server

  1. In Management Agent Designer, on the Connect to Notes Server page, in Hierarchical Server name, type the complete name of the Lotus Notes server.

  2. In Specify user ID file, type the complete name of the Lotus Notes user ID file or click Browse to locate the file.

  3. In Password, type the password.

  4. In Address Books, select the .nsf address books that you want to synchronize.

Note

To create and run a management agent for Lotus Notes, you must install a Lotus Notes client on the server running FIM. The Forefront Identity Manager 2010 R2 Synchronization Service and the account that you used to create the management agent must have register permissions to register new objects in the Lotus Notes directory and full control permissions for the local notes.ini file.

Note

When you export new registered users to an address book, each new user ID requires a software license. For more information, check your Lotus Notes documentation.
