Security Levels of Connection Types

Send Feedback

Different connections have different security levels, as shown in the following table.

Connection type Security level
DTPT Level 1 (most secure)
NIC Level 10
Wi-Fi Level 10
CSD Level 100
GPRS Level 100
1xRTT Level 100 (least secure)

If an application requests a secure connection and there is no active connection that is more secure, Connection Manager makes the connection and disables all other connections with lower security level. If the application requests a secure connection and there is an active connection with a higher security level, Connection Manager does not make the requested secure connection, and returns the status code CONNMGR_STATUS_EXCLUSIVECONFLICT.
