Known issues

Breaking changes to server-side plugins

  • If you have any server-side plugins that are used in your TFS deployment, you have to produce or get new versions of them because of a breaking change that was made to the TFS server object model. In particular, the TeamFoundationRequestContext class was replaced with an interface, IVssRequestContext. This change affects the ISubscriber interface. The change is typically implemented by server-side plugins. It was made primarily to improve the testability of code that was written against the TFS server object model. However, it requires that server-side plugins that were written against TFS 2015 be updated in order to work with TFS 2015 Update 1.

Build agents seem to be online but don't claim more work

  • Customers who are upgrading from Team Foundation Service 2015 RTM, and who configured agents separately from the Team Foundation Service Administration Console, will encounter an issue in which those agents seem to be online but don't claim more work. You can confirm this by checking the latest agent logs in the _diag folder for the following error:

    MessageQueueListener.DispatchAsync - TimeoutException received.

    Workaround:

To work around this issue, restart all build agents after you upgrade to TFS 2015 Update 1.
