FrontPage Server Extensions 2002 from Microsoft are compatible with Microsoft FrontPage 2002 and all previous versions of FrontPage. For additional information, see the section titled Installing FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions in the Administrator's Guide to SharePoint Team Services and the FrontPage Server Extensions 2002.
Note If you are installing FrontPage Server Extensions on Microsoft Windows Server 2003, install the version included with the operating system. Go to Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel and select Add/Remove Windows Components.
The following table provides information about the various versions of FrontPage Server Extensions 2002.

You may also see other version numbers associated with FrontPage Server Extensions. These version numbers apply to versions of FrontPage Server Extensions installed with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or related products and technologies from Microsoft, such as Windows SharePoint Services and SharePoint Team Services, and do not apply to any shipped version of FrontPage Server Extensions.
If you have a version of FrontPage Server Extensions 2002 other than the ones previously listed and you are not running Windows SharePoint Services, SharePoint Team Services, or Windows Server 2003, you should install the latest security release to bring your version up to date.
Note Microsoft SharePoint Team Services was built on FrontPage Server Extensions 2002, and Windows SharePoint Services is the second released version of SharePoint Team Services. However, FrontPage Server Extensions, SharePoint Team Services, and Windows SharePoint Services are all different Microsoft technologies.
