Create Report Extensions for PerformancePoint Services

To add a custom report view to PerformancePoint Services in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, you must create a report extension.

Applies to: SharePoint Server 2010

Report extensions consist of the following components:

  • A renderer that draws the report in the Web Part.

  • An editor that creates and updates a report object.

  • Metadata in the web.config file that integrates the extension into PerformancePoint Services.

This section contains topics that describe how to create a report renderer and a report editor. For information about the extension metadata, see How to: Manually Register PerformancePoint Services Extensions.
