Word Automation Services Class Library

Word Automation Services is a component of SharePoint Server 2010. It gives developers a way to manipulate Microsoft Word documents in an unattended environment that does not require the presence of the Word client application on the server. Specifically, Word Automation Services provides developers the ability to perform document conversion tasks programmatically through the Word Automation Services application programming interface (API).
