Duet Enterprise for Microsoft SharePoint and SAP comprises a number of components distributed across SharePoint and the SAP environment.

Duet Enterprise Architecture

For a survey and a description of the various components and features of Duet Enterprise, see the topic Overview of Duet Enterprise in the TechNet Library. You can also download a detailed poster that includes schematic representations of the components of Duet Enterprise along with security configurations and other information. (This poster is also available for viewing online.)

SharePoint Server Architecture

For the purposes of development in the Microsoft environment, Duet Enterprise can be considered a set of features and capabilities added on to SharePoint Server and Business Connectivity Services (BCS). Developing solutions for Duet Enterprise, then, requires some familiarity with the architecture of SharePoint Server and BCS. For a detailed account of the components of SharePoint Server and SharePoint Foundation, see the topic SharePoint 2010 Architectures Overview in the MSDN Library. For information about Business Connectivity Services in SharePoint, see the topic Features of Business Connectivity Services in SharePoint Foundation.

For an overview of the SharePoint object model members you will use most often in developing solutions for SharePoint and Duet Enterprise, see the topic Server and Site Architecture: Object Model Overview in the MSDN Library. For an overview of the BCS object model, see the topic Business Connectivity Services Object Model Overview.

SAP Architecture

For information about the SAP environment, in particular the SAP Enterprise Services Repository, see the documentation on Enterprise Services Repository and Registry at the SAP Developer Community site.
