To demonstrate the steps involved in developing for Duet Enterprise for Microsoft SharePoint and SAP in this walkthrough, we have chosen to implement a solution for a scenario involving the management of sales orders.
In general terms, the solution should allow users within SharePoint to view and carry out certain actions on representations of SAP Sales Order business object types from an SAP backend system. Changes made to sales orders (as they are represented in SharePoint) will be conveyed back to the Sales Order business object type in the SAP back-end system through the mediation of Duet Enterprise components in the Microsoft environment and in the SAP environment.
