PromptText Property

The PromptText property of the SearchBox class gets or sets the default text displayed in the search box.

Property Value

A string that contains the default text displayed in the search box.

Remarks

The PromptText property is read/write. This property only applies when the CompactMode property is set to true. The prompt text is displayed before the search text input box. If the ContextSensitiveScopeType property is set to 4, the prompt text is displayed above the text input box.
