The Acquire method of the TopologyLock class locks the topology of a server farm for an exclusive process by calling the proc_acquirePortalLock stored procedure in the configuration database.

Parameters

force  true to force the lock acquisition attempt even when the IsHeld property is true; otherwise, false.

Return Value

true if the attempt to acquire a lock succeeds; otherwise, false.
