How to View the Exchange Server 2007 Version Number After You Install an Update Rollup
Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 will reach end of support on April 11, 2017. To stay supported, you will need to upgrade. For more information, see Resources to help you upgrade your Office 2007 servers and clients.
Applies to: Exchange Server 2007 SP1, Exchange Server 2007 SP2, Exchange Server 2007 SP3
After you install an update rollup for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, the version of Exchange Server is not updated to show that the update rollup is installed. This issue occurs because the version number that is displayed by the Exchange Management Console or by other administrative mechanisms is obtained from the Exchange Server Object in the Active Directory directory service.
To update the version number in Active Directory, the account that installs the update must have permission to change Active Directory. Typically, Exchange administrator accounts in large organizations do not have permission to update Active Directory.
To determine whether the update is installed, see Add or Remove Programs on a Windows Server 2003-based computer. Or, see View installed updates in Programs and Features on a Windows Server 2008-based computer.
To see Add or Remove Programs on a Windows Server 2003-based computer
Click Start, point to Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.
Click to select the Show updates check box.
In the Currently installed programs and updates list, locate the Exchange Update Rollups that are installed on the computer.
To see installed updates in Programs and Features on a Windows Server 2008-based computer
Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Programs and Features.
In the Tasks list, click View installed updates.
In the Name column, locate the Exchange Update Rollups that are installed on the computer.
