Connector has accept restrictions set

The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool queries the Active Directory® directory service to determine the value for the dLMemDefault attribute for each SMTP connector in the routing group. The Exchange Server Analyzer also queries Active Directory to determine the value for the authOrig and unauthOrig attributes of each connector. The unauthOrig and authOrig attributes contain lists of distinguished names (DNs) of accounts.

By default, all SMTP connectors allow all users to send messages through the connector. When dLMemDefault is set to the default setting of 1, messages from everyone are accepted except from those accounts listed in the unauthOrig attribute. When dLMemDefault is set to 0, messages from everyone are rejected except from those accounts listed in the authOrig attribute.

The Exchange Server Analyzer displays a non-default configuration message if the following conditions exist:

  • The value for the dLMemDefault attribute set to 0.

  • The authOrig attribute contains values.

The connector that is specified by the Exchange Server Analyzer is configured to only accept some messages. Only those accounts that have been granted explicit permissions on the Delivery Restrictions tab of the connector will be allowed to send messages through the connector.
