Install SCOM 2007 (FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint)

After successfully running the prerequisite checker, start the SCOM 2007 installer and follow directions from the installer dialog boxes.
These are the recommended settings:
Management Group Configuration: Enter a unique name for your management group. Make a note of the exact string. You will need it when you install agents.
SQL Server Database Instance: Select your SQL Server database instance. By default, TCP connectivity for your SQL Server instance is disabled and not required. However, if you are running multiple instances of SQL Server on the same server, make sure that the selected TCP port is not used by a different SQL instance.
Database and Log File Options: The default database name is OperationsManager. There is no requirement to edit this name unless the selected SQL Server instance already has a database that has the same name.
The recommended database size for the FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint management pack is about 10 GB (10000 MB). A larger database size could handle more historical data, but can result in reduced SCOM 2007 performance.
Post installation configuration steps for SCOM 2007 SP1
The following steps are not required for SCOM 2007 R2. The following procedure is only relevant when you deploy SCOM 2007 SP1.
Open the Authoring view in the SCOM Operations Console.
Select Rules from the Management Pack Objects folder.
Enter Performance Data Source Module in the Look for: box and then click Find Now.
Right-click the Performance Data Source Module could not find a performance counter entry in the type: Health Service (2) group and select Overrides > Disable the Rule > For all objects of type: Health Service.
Once SCOM 2007 is successfully installed, continue by installing the SCOM 2007 agent on all search nodes. Make them Agent Managed servers, and obtain and import the System Center Operations Manager Management Pack for FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint.
