This two-part video demonstration walks through the steps necessary to configure the Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 cube building services for use with SQL Server Analysis Services 2005.

Part I of the video demonstrates the steps required to create the Analysis Services repository, including:

• Creating the repository database in SQL Server 2005

• Creating a database login for the OLAP Users group

• Making the OLAP Users group login a db_owner of the repository database

• Creating the required schema for the database

• Configuring the necessary repository connection parameters in Analysis Services

Part II of the video demonstrates the required Office Project Server 2007 configuration steps, including:

• Installing Office Project Server 2007 prerequisites:

  • SQL Server Native Client

  • SQL Server 2005 Management Objects Collection

  • SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility Components

• Configuring account settings:

  • Granting db_datareader permissions for the Analysis Services service account on the Office Project Server 2007 reporting database

  • Adding the shared services provider account to the OLAP Users group

  • Adding the shared services provider account as a server role member in Analysis Services

• Installing on each client computer:

  • Microsoft Office Web Components

  • SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services 9.0 OLE DB Provider
