Demo: Excel Services and Secure Store: Authentication using an ODC file

This demonstration shows the sequence of events that occurs when Excel Services in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 refreshes the data in a data-connected Microsoft Excel workbook that is linked to the data source by using an Office Data Connection (ODC) file and Secure Store. The video shows the following events:

  • Excel Services determining which authentication method to use

  • Excel Services passing user information to Secure Store

  • Secure Store verifying credentials and granting Excel Services access to the data source

  • Excel Services displaying the workbook
