How to Edit a Configuration Item in a Configuration Baseline in Desired Configuration Management

Applies To: System Center Configuration Manager 2007, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R3, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP1, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2

Configuration baselines in Configuration Manager 2007 contain configuration items with associated configuration baseline rules. You can add and remove configuration items from configuration baselines, but you cannot directly edit configuration items from a configuration baseline. To do so, you must modify the configuration item from the Configuration Items node.

To edit a configuration item in a configuration baseline

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System CenterConfiguration Manager / Site Download / Computer Management / Desired Configuration Management / Configuration Items.

  2. Right-click the configuration item you want to edit, and click Properties.

If you cannot immediately see the configuration item you want to edit, you can use the columns to help you locate it by sorting on one of its properties, such as name or category.

  3. Make the change to the configuration item, and click OK.

For more information about the options in the Configuration Item Properties dialog box, see Configuration Item Properties.
