How to Modify a Sender
Applies To: System Center Configuration Manager 2007, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R3, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP1, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2
You can edit sender settings if you want to change the maximum number of concurrent sends or the retry settings for the sender. Increasing the maximum number of concurrent sends can increase the throughput of data between sites, but it can also result in higher demand on network bandwidth. Edit the retry settings to specify the number of times the sender retries a sending if the first attempt fails, and to specify how long it waits between retries.
You must have Modify permissions for the site security object class or instance to perform this procedure.
To modify a sender
In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System CenterConfiguration Manager / Site Database / Site Management / <site code> - <site name> / Site Settings / Senders.
In the results pane, right-click the sender you want to modify, click Properties, and then click the Advanced tab.
When configuring the total number of concurrent sending threads to be used when communicating with other sites, the total number of sending threads should be configured as a greater number than the threads configured for the per site setting. If the total number of sending threads is equal to the number configured to be used per site, and a receiving site is unavailable, it could cause all sending threads to become used when attempting to communicate with the unavailable site and prevent site-to-site communication to other sites.
Modify settings as needed in the Sender Properties dialog box, and then click OK.
