How to Create Report Folders in SQL Reporting Services
Applies To: System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R3
When you create a report using SQL Reporting Services in Configuration Manager 2007 R2, it must be assigned to a report folder. Report folders provide a method of sorting and filtering reports stored on the report server. Report folders are particularly useful when you have a high number of reports to manage.
When you use the Copy Reports to Reporting Services Wizard to copy Configuration Manager 2007 reports into SQL Reporting Services, report folders are automatically created from the Configuration Manager 2007 report category.
Use the following procedure to create a new report folder in SQL Reporting Services.
The information in this topic applies only to Configuration Manager 2007 R2 and Configuration Manager 2007 R3.
To create a new report category
In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System CenterConfiguration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Reporting / Reporting Services / <Report Server Name>, and expand the node.
Right-click the Report Folders node, and then click New Folder.
In the New Folder dialog box, specify a name for the report folder and, optionally, a description.
Click OK to close the New Folder dialog box.
