How to: Launch Event Viewer from the Server Explorer

Event Viewer is a Microsoft Windows application that allows you to monitor and administer event logs and their entries. You can launch the Event Viewer application from Server Explorer if you want to access the information it contains directly rather than through your Visual Studio code.

To launch Event Viewer

  1. Access Server Explorer. For more information, see How to: Access and Initialize Server Explorer/Database Explorer.

  2. Expand the Servers node.

  3. Expand the node for the server that has the event log you want to view.

  4. Right-click the Event Logs node and click Launch Event Viewer.
