How to: Run and View a Report

Team project reports are stored in the team project SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services and are accessible through either Team Explorer or the team report site. In Team Explorer, the reports are listed in alphabetical order under the team project name Reports node. On the team report site, the reports are listed in alphabetical order in the Report Manager.

Required Permissions

To complete these procedures, you must have the View project-level information permission on the team project set to Allow. You must also be a member of the SQL Server Reporting Services Browser role. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.

Viewing Reports

To view a report from Team Explorer

  1. In Team Explorer, expand the team project node, and then expand the Reports node.

  2. Right-click the report and then click Open.

    The report is displayed in a browser window within Visual Studio.

  3. At the top of the report, select the appropriate parameters and click View Report.

To view a report from Report Manager

  1. In Team Explorer, click the team project node.

  2. On the Team menu, click Show Report Site.

  3. In Report Manager, click the Contents tab.

  4. Click the report you want to open.

  5. At the top of the report, select the appropriate parameters, and click View Report.
