How to: Set Build Quality

Team Foundation Build enables you to create build qualities to specify a build quality for individual builds. You can select a pre-defined build quality, or you can create your own. For more information, see How to: Create or Remove Build Qualities.

Required Permissions

To perform this procedure, you must have the Team Foundation Server Edit build quality permission set to Allow. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.

To set the build quality

  1. Select the Builds folder in Team Explorer and click View Builds on the Build menu.

The Build Explorer appears. For more information, see How to: View Build Summary Status.

  2. In the Build Explorer, under the Build Quality column associated with the build row for which you want to change the quality, click the drop-down arrow and select the desired quality. The drop down list contains a set of pre-defined build qualities:

    • Initial Test Passed

    • Lab Test Passed

    • Ready for Deployment

    • Ready for Initial Test

    • Rejected

    • Released

    • UAT Passed

    • Under Investigation

You can also create your own build qualities. For more information, see How to: Create or Remove Build Qualities.

The selected build quality is updated in Build Explorer.
