Updating a Customized Process Template
The process templates MSF for Agile Software Development and MSF for CMMI Process Improvement that were installed during Team Foundation Server installation are replaced by new versions during setup. If you have customized the old templates and saved them by the same name, they should be downloaded before you upgrade or they will be replaced and your customization will be lost.
If you want to update your customized process templates so that they are based on the latest version of MSF for Agile Software Development or MSF for CMMI Process Improvement, they must be manually updated. To update a customized process template, download the new version of the MSF template you are using, either MSF for Agile Software Development or MSF for CMMI Process Improvement, and complete the same customization steps that you used to modify the old template. To start to create projects from your updated, customized process template, rename the new template and upload it to your Team Foundation Server.
