N (Visual Studio ALM Glossary)

This glossary defines key terms that are used in the Visual Studio Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Help.

  • network agent
    A background process within a virtual machine that updates the network configuration of that machine in order to support network isolation.

  • network isolation
    The capability of a virtual environment that enables identical copies of it to be run at the same time without causing network conflicts.

  • network mix
    Defines the probability of a virtual user running a given network profile. For example: 75% use LAN and 25% use DSL 56K. Valid only for Web tests and coded Web test types.

  • network profile
    Simulation of network bandwidth at the application layer, for example, LAN and Dialup 56K. Does not simulate latency. Valid only for Web tests and coded Web test types.
