Security Configuration Engine Command Line Utility

The Security Configuration Engine Command Line Utility component provides a command line tool that can be used to drive the operations supported by the Security Configuration Engine (SCE). Such operations include:

  • Importing\Exporting security templates into\out of a configuration database
  • Configuring System Security with the contents of the database
  • Performing a security analysis based on the contents of the database

There are no services for this component.

Associated Components

The secedit component is intended to be used to schedule security configuration tasks or to perform them by means of script. If secedit is not available, these operations can only be performed by the Security Configuration and Analysis add-in.

You must also include the SCE core engine component in your configuration. All security operations require security engine to operate on a security template or security database.
