Custom Device Configuration

The Custom Device configuration is targeted to provide functionality for a fully customizable Windows CE–based device. The Custom Configuration Wizard walks you through the process of selecting components for your configuration. Each feature in the Platform Builder Catalog is represented in the wizard. Features are logically grouped with a page for each group.

The following table shows the two basic variants for custom devices.

Variant Description
Custom Device (including shell and GUI) Enables you to choose from all operating system (OS) features, including those that require a graphical display.
Custom Device (no display) Enables you to choose from all OS features that do not require a graphical display.
