Monitoring Key Workloads for Alerts

You can use the Health Monitor page on the System Health tab to monitor key services and components (also called indicators) for the following workloads in Windows EBS:

  • Log on to domain
  • Send and receive e-mail
  • Internet services

Note

You must use an account that is in the Domain Admins group to perform this procedure.

To monitor key workloads for alerts

  1. Click Start, click All Programs, click Windows Essential Business Server, and then click Windows Essential Business Server Administration Console.

  2. Click the System Health tab.

  3. In the results pane, expand each workload to view the status of the indicators for that workload. Review the Status column to see if any critical alerts are displayed.

  4. To view more information about an indicator, click it and view the detailed status and description information in the details pane. If there is an alert, you can view an alert description and the recommended action to resolve the alert.

  5. To view events on the server where an indicator is monitored, click it, and then in the tasks pane, click Start Event Viewer.

  6. To start the Services console on the server where an indicator is monitored, click it, and then in the tasks pane, click Start Services console.

  7. To start a Remote Desktop Connection to the server where an indicator is monitored, click it, and then in the tasks pane, click Connect to server.
