Monitor Security Components

You can monitor the status of security components (also known as security adapters) on the Components page of the Security tab. The Components page displays the security components that are installed with Windows EBS and the add-in security components (published by Microsoft or non-Microsoft developers) that you have installed.

For more information about monitoring in Windows EBS, see the Microsoft Web site (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=108907).

Note

You must use an account that is in the Domain Admins group to perform this procedure.

To monitor a security component

  1. Click Start, click All Programs, click Windows Essential Business Server, and then click Windows Essential Business Server Administration Console.

  2. Click the Security tab, and then in the results pane, click a security component.

    • The Status column shows the current status of the component.

    • The details pane provides detailed status information for the security component that is selected. For most components, the information includes a description of the component, the number and type of recent alerts, and recent protection statistics.

    • If recent alerts are listed, in the tasks pane, click View recent alerts to open the System Center Essentials console to view detailed information about the alerts for the component.
