Resolve and Clear Diagnostic Alerts

Applies To: Windows HPC Server 2008

If there is something preventing a diagnostic test from running, or another issue that requires your attention, an alert icon will appear next to the diagnostic test results. You can resolve the issue, and then clear the alert.

For information about using HPC Cluster Manager, see Overview of HPC Cluster Manager.

To resolve and clear a diagnostic alert

  1. In Diagnostics, in the Navigation Pane, click Test Results.

  2. In the views pane, select the diagnostic test result that has the alert icon.

  3. In the Detail Pane, look at the results summaries to determine what the issue is, and resolve it.

For example, for the Software Updates Required diagnostic, it cannot determine which updates are required if the node does not have a patching task associated with it, so it will issue an alert. After you add the patching task, you can clear the alert and re-run the diagnostic.

  4. Select the diagnostic test result, and in the Actions pane, click Clear Alert.

  5. In the Actions pane, click Rerun Test to check if you have resolved the issue. If you haven’t, the test results will again show an alert.
