The Disk Management window

The Disk Management window displays disks and volumes in a list view and in a graphical view. The following figure depicts the disk and volume status columns in Disk Management's graphical view:

Figure showing disk and volume status

In the Status column of the list view, you can view the status of a disk or volume. The status also appears in the graphical view of each disk or volume. If a disk or volume status indicates an error condition, it is important to repair the disk or volume as quickly as possible to avoid data loss. If the status is not Healthy for volumes or Online for disks, see Troubleshooting Disk Management.

You can customize the list or graphical views by changing the type of information that is displayed in the top and bottom panes and by selecting the colors and patterns used to display volumes and disk regions. To change the way objects are displayed in the Disk Management window, click View and then select the options you want.
