Known Issues for Managing IPsec, Multicast, and ICMP Settings

Review the following known issues before you manage Internet Protocol (IPsec), multicast, and Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) settings.

  • Your computer might not be able to connect to multicast streams if you have Windows Firewall enabled. The article describes why Windows Firewall might prevent you from using Windows Media Player to connect to multicast and UDP streams and how you can configure Windows Firewall to overcome the problem.

  • You might experience problems with ICMP traffic if you also use IPsec to secure traffic.   • The Ping Command Times Out.
