Event ID 22 — RADIUS Client Availability
Applies To: Windows Server 2008
RADIUS clients must be available to Network Policy Server (NPS) in order for NPS to process connection requests.
|Product:||Windows Operating System|
|Message:||The Network Policy Server (NPS) could not send a response due to a network error. The data is the error code generated by Windows Sockets.|
Establish RADIUS client availability
To establish RADIUS client availability:
- Use Windows Sockets error messages and documentation to determine the Windows Sockets reason for failure and the resolution steps. For more information, see Windows Sockets Error Codes at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=95404.
To verify that Windows Sockets errors are fixed:
- Connect to the network through the previously unavailable RADIUS client. On a network access client that is allowed by policy to connect to the network, such as a wireless client that is a domain member computer for which there are network policies that grant access, attempt to connect to the network with a valid user account and credentials.
- If the server running NPS performs authentication and authorization in a normal amount of time, the network and Windows Sockets errors are resolved.
