MS DTC Event Messages

Applies To: Windows Server 2008

To monitor transactions, you can use event messages to retrieve information about the status of the transaction manager that is running on the local computer. The Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MS DTC) generates three types of events: error events, warning events, and information events. MS DTC events are recorded in the Windows event log. You can use Event Viewer to view these events.

The following table describes the event types.

Event type Description

Error event

A serious error has occurred, such as log file corruption.

Warning event

An abnormal event has occurred.

Information event

A normal event has occurred, such as MS DTC startup or shutdown.
