Enable DHCP Scopes for NAP

Applies To: Windows Server 2008

Enable DHCP scopes for NAP

When you deploy the DHCP enforcement method for Network Access Protection (NAP), you must choose whether to enable NAP on individual scopes on your DHCP server or to enable NAP on all DHCP scopes on a DHCP server.

Enabling NAP for individual scopes is recommended if you have a limited number of subnets and scopes that support the subnets.

If you have a large number of subnets, it is recommended that you enable NAP for all scopes on a DHCP server.

To configure DHCP scopes for NAP, do one of the following:

  • To enable NAP for all scopes on a DHCP server, obtain the Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) properties of the server, click the Network Access Protection tab, and configure NAP.

  • To enable NAP for individual scopes on a DHCP server, obtain the scope properties, click the Network Access Protection tab, and configure NAP.
