Remove delegation for a Site or an Application Feature (IIS 7)

When you configure the delegation state for site or application features, you can remove delegation for a feature. When you remove delegation for a feature, users who connect to the site or application cannot see the feature in the UI or configure it. This is useful when you want to hide a feature, such as authentication, so that a users cannot see it.

  • None

To remove delegation for a site or application feature

  1. Open IIS Manager. For information about opening IIS Manager, see Open IIS Manager (IIS 7).

  2. In the Connections pane:

    • If you want to configure the delegation state of site features, click the server node in the tree.

Note

To configure the delegation state of features in a specific site or all sites on a Web server, you must be a server administrator.

  - If you want to configure the delegation state of application features, use the tools in the **Connections** pane to connect to the site that contains the application or applications. Then click the site in the tree.  
      

Note

To configure the delegation state of features in a specific application or all applications in a site, you must be a server administrator, or a user who has permission to connect to the site that contains the application or applications.

  1. In Features View, double-click Feature Delegation.

  2. Optionally, in the Actions pane, click Custom Site Delegation or Custom Application Delegation if you want to configure delegation for a specific site or application. Then select a site from the Site list or an application from the Application list.

  3. Select a feature in the list and then click Remove Delegation in the Actions pane.
