Pausing or Starting a Zone

To prevent a zone from responding to queries or updates, and to prevent the zone from being transferred, you can pause the zone. You might want to pause a zone as part of troubleshooting zone transfer problems, for example. After you pause a zone, you can restore the zone’s normal function by starting the zone.

Note

Pausing an Active Directory–integrated zone does not prevent the zone data from being replicated along with other Active Directory data.
