Allowing OUs to Be Created Within Containers

This topic explains how to use the Active Directory module for Windows PowerShell to allow organizational units (OUs) to be created within containers.


The following example demonstrates how to allow the creation of OUs within containers:

Set-ADObject -Identity 'CN=Organizational-Unit,CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=Fabrikam,DC=com' -Partition 'CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=Fabrikam,DC=com -Add @{possSuperiors='Container'}

Additional information

You can use the following parameters when you set many of the common values of Active Directory objects:

  • -Description

  • -DisplayName

  • -ProtectedFromAccidentalDeletion
