Restart Manager can be used to restart applications and services that were shut down during the update or installation process. If this restart process fails, a system restart might be required for applications and services to function correctly.

Resolve

Manually restart the application or service

You must manually restart the application or service that you installed or updated. Restart Manager will attempt to resolve the issue the next time it runs.

Verify

Restart Manager is used by installation and update programs. To verify that the restart process was successful, review the Event Log after a system restart or after the completion of the installatin or upgrade process. If no further events are logged, the restart process was successful.
