Application Request Routing User Interface (UI) Help

Applies To: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista

Application Request Routing (ARR) is a feature in IIS Manager that helps to maximize available server resources. The proxy-based routing module makes dynamic decisions for routing Web traffic. It uses information from HTTP headers, server variables, and load balance algorithms to determine how to forward HTTP requests to application servers. ARR uses several modules to help you manage the servers in your server farm. These modules include Caching, Server Affinity, Health Test, Load Balance, Monitoring and Management, Proxy, and Routing Rules.

For more information about ARR and how to use this module in a server farm, see the Define and Configure an Application Request Routing Server Farm walkthrough.

IIS Manager provides descriptions of all user interface (UI) elements on each feature page, dialog box, and wizard page within IIS Manager. To display this help, press F1 on the active feature page, dialog box, or wizard page.
