The Connection Manager Administration Kit (CMAK) wizard guides you through the process of building connection profiles that exactly meet your business needs. Before you can build these profiles, you must install the CMAK wizard.

Differences from earlier versions of the CMAK wizard

If you have used the 1.3 version of the CMAK wizard, you should be aware of the following issues:

  • If you upgraded your operating system then you might have to manually migrate some profile files.

  • If you manually edited the .inf file of a profile created with an earlier version of the CMAK wizard then you must reapply the edits to the .inf file if you change the profile with the current version of the CMAK wizard.

  • You can no longer use the CMAK wizard to incorporate an animation in your service profile.

  • If you add a program under the [RunPostSetupCommandsSection] of the .inf file of your profile then you must add the file as an additional file when you edit the profile with the CMAK wizard.

Installing the CMAK wizard

You must install CMAK on a computer that is running the same processor architecture as the computers on which you want to install the profile. To create a profile for a 64-bit version of Windows, then you must create the profile on a computer that is running 64-bit version of Windows, such as Windows Server 2008 R2. To create a profile for a 32-bit version of Windows, then you must create the profile by using CMAK on computer that is running a 32-bit version of Windows. You can install CMAK on the 32-bit version of Windows 7 as an optional feature.
