2D View (Monitor and Playback)

The 2D view contains the following controls:

  • View Controls
  • Image Controls
  • View Settings

View Controls

Control Function Description
View Mode Displays the view mode and data source.
Settings Displays the 2D view settings.
Zoom out Decreases the zoom factor.
Zoom Factor Selects a zoom factor from the following list: 50%, 75%, 100%, 200%, 300%, and 400%.
Zoom in Increases the zoom factor.
Zoom to fit Adjusts the zoom factor to fit the entire image in view.

Note

For the Monitor 2D View, the view mode will display MONITOR: NONE when Kinect Studio is disconnected from the Kinect service, or MONITOR: LIVE when Kinect Studio is connected and is monitoring live streams from the Kinect sensor. For the Playback 2D View, the view mode will display INSPECT: NONE when no file is opened for playback, or INSPECT: FILE when inspecting or playing back a file.

Image Controls

Displays a two-dimensional representation of image stream data and lets you adjust various render view settings.

Menu Item Description
Settings Brings up the view settings.
Zoom in Increases the zoom factor.
Zoom out Decreases the zoom factor.
Zoom Factor Selects a zoom factor from the following list: 50%, 75%, 100%, 200%, 300%, and 400%.
Zoom to fit Adjusts the zoom factor to fit the entire image in view.

View Settings

The 2D View Settings let you adjust the settings for individual render plugins. For more information, see Kinect Studio Render Plugins.

Note

The order of the render plug-ins determines the composition order – similar to the "painter's algorithm," which refers to a technique employed by painters who paint distant parts of a scene before parts that are nearer thereby covering some areas of distant parts.
