Component Designer Overview

Adding components to the Target Designer system database (TDSD) is an ongoing process.

Using Component Designer, a companion tool to Target Designer, you can create a component definition file to define the components to be added to the TDSD. A Component Definition File contains data that defines components. Target Designer uses this data to add the components to the database and the All Nodes pane.

You can also use Component Designer to configure capabilities and components based on information in your development system, such as your local registry or Target Designer system database.

Using Target Designer, you can then import the component definition file and add the components to your configuration.

To start Component Designer

  1. On the toolbar, click the Component Designer button: ms853885.tdcdbutton(en-US,WinEmbedded.4).gif
  2. For additional information, see Component Designer Help.

To exit Target Designer

  • On the Configuration menu, click Exit.
