"Sorry, something went wrong" error when you try to update, remove, or add a Send To connection

Problem

Consider the following scenario:

  • In Microsoft 365, you browse to the SharePoint Online admin center and then click records management.

  • You have many connections in the Send To Connections list configured.

  • You try to update, remove, or add a connection.

Note

If you're trying to add a connection, you already verified the Send To URL field by clicking Click here to test, and you received a successful verification.

In this scenario, you receive the following error message:

Sorry, something went wrong

An unexpected error has occurred.

Solution

To resolve this issue, contact Microsoft 365 technical support.
