Edit video details, options, and permissions in admin mode in Microsoft Stream

By using admin mode, Stream admins can manage content and permissions for all videos in Stream.

  1. Edit a video in admin mode

    • In any list of videos, whether you own the video or not, click the More menu icon More menu icon, and then click Edit in admin mode.

    • In the playback page for any video, click the More menu icon More menu icon, and then click Edit in admin mode.

    • If you click a link to a video with a custom permission set, and you do not have permissions to view the video or edit settings, click View in admin mode.

      After you click View in admin mode, you will land on the playback page for that custom video with the burgundy color warning indicating that you are accessing this video in admin mode.

      If you decide to make changes to the metadata of this custom video, you can click the Edit in admin mode in the drawer and that will lead you to the edit page for that particular video.

      If you apply changes, it will save your changes and exit you out of admin mode and land you on the original video playback page.

  2. Edit metadata for that video, including updating the description and the thumbnail for the video. For more information, see Edit video metadata.

  3. Click Apply changes and exit, which takes you to the video playback page with the updated metadata.
