Azure Communication Services allows you to easily add real-time multimedia voice, video, and telephony-over-IP communications features to your applications. Our client libraries are used to implement this functionality.

The objective of this module is to learn about the Azure Communication Services Calling capability. This module focuses on digital calling via applications and not PTSN (Publicly Switched Telephone Network) or regular phone calling.

Learning objectives

By the end of this module, you'll be able to:

  • Create and configure an Azure Communication Services resource
  • Create a web app that can access Azure Communication Services calling functionality
  • Place a voice call with the Azure Communication Services echo bot or another user/colleague

Prerequisites

  • Basic familiarity with JavaScript and Node.js
  • The LTS (Long Term Support) or latest version of Node.js
