View and Manage Your Bugs

After you have submitted a bug to the Windows® bug management service, or if you are tracking the activity on bugs that others have submitted, you can view and manage these bugs from the Bug management page on the Dashboard website of Hardware Dev Center or the Windows Dev Center.

Viewing submitted bugs

You can use one of the following prepared filters to display the bugs you're interested in:

Filter Shows

My company’s bugs

All bugs opened by or against your company or organization.

Assigned to me

All bugs that have been assigned to you.

Opened by me

All bugs created by you.

To view submitted bugs

  1. From either the Hardware Dev Center or the Windows Dev Center, sign in to the Dashboard by using your Microsoft account.

  2. On the left side of the window, click Bug management.

  3. On the Bug management page, in the View bugs tile, click the filter you want to use.

The list is updated to show the bugs you want to see.

To view and edit a bug

  1. To open a bug, click the Bug ID.

  2. To edit the fields of the bug, you can work on the page that you opened by clicking on the bug.

  3. To submit your bug changes to Microsoft, on the top of the page, click Submit.

  4. Clicking on Revert Changes undo’s the changes you have done and takes you to the last saved state.

Managing bugs

After you click a bug ID, you can also attach files to the bug, and resolve bug duplicates.

To attach a file to a bug

You can attach and upload files to a bug to help Microsoft debug your bug. You can also view files attached to the bug by Microsoft.

  1. Click Browse below the Attachments field.

  2. Select a file to upload. The file will appear under the attached files section.

  3. Repeat steps 1-3 to add additional files.

  4. Click Submit.

To view or save attached files

  1. To open a bug, click the Bug ID.

  2. The attachments will be displayed under the Attached files section.

To delete files

  • Click the Delete button next to the file name under the attached files section.

To resolve a bug as a duplicate and view the primary bug details

You can resolve a bug as a duplicate of another bug.

  1. Click the Bug ID to open the bug for editing.

  2. Change the status field to resolved.

  3. Select the resolved reason as duplicate under the Bug Status section

  4. If the bug ID is valid, it appears under the Duplicates section at the bottom of the page with the following information:

    • Parent Bug ID

    • Status

    • Resolved Reason (if resolved)

    • Fix available date in WinMain – when will the fix be available

    • Fix available in – which branch will the fix be available in information for the primary bug.
